Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I am a committee member, subcommittee chair, team captain, and the current treasurer for my Relay For Life, an event that raises awareness and donations for the American Cancer Society, which in turn uses that money for research and programs that help those diagnosed with cancer and their families. I spend most of my time trying to get more people involved and showing everyone how important Relay is.

Julie

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I help raise money annually for the American Cancer Society and currently chair the United Way campaign at my employer. ...and I compulsively pick up trash at the beach. :)
Why are you participating?:

My fabulous friend Sandie told me about it and I love the idea.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I am starting a business that does social media consulting for do-gooders: like nonprofits, yoga studios, meditation centers, alternative medicine clinics and life coaches. After working in direct service at non profits for a few years, I am excited to help organizations that are doing great work optimize social media to get the recognition and support they deserve.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I am in ONE which educates and advocates for ending preventable disease, famine, and poverty in Africa and I try to make people remember that they matter everyday even if it is just saying Hi.
Why are you participating?:

Believing in the good in people is what it will take to make positive changes from ones personal life to the community they live in.

Sarah

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I volunteered at an Alzheimer's assisted living facility: leading an exercise class, calling numbers in bingo games, doing trivia, and just sitting and spending time with the residents.
Why are you participating?:

This is an amazing project and I want to play a part in it!

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
Each day is a day to keep smiling and help others to smile around you. Keeping children in the classroom confident about themselves and what they can achieve is a true test of patience but I do with joy, and so do my wonderful colleagues. I love my family and my friends, and I believe that everyone deserves at least a little bit of happiness.
Why are you participating?:

I think the idea of this project simply generates an appreciation of how different we all are... and yet how similar we are, too! It's like that saying, if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?
