Tell Us Your Good Deed:
Working with inner city children, keeping them smiling
Why are you participating?:

To be a strong role model for the girls I work with everyday. Teaching them that it is great to be different, creative, strong and happy!

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
After receiving the Eucharist, I encountered a blind beggar on the streets of Madrid. I took her hand and told her "God bless you" in Spanish. The simple yet compassionate gesture struck a chord in both her and my own heart. Our socioeconomic barriers were breached and it was as if she was looking right at me. I was moved to tears as I departed, realizing it was not I who took her hand. Also, there was a classmate of mine this past year who was labeled as narcissistic and bitter by many of my peers. This past summer I asked him to hang out with some of my friends doing lighthearted pranks and hanging out around town. At the end of summer, he sent me a message thanking me for opening up to him when no one else would.
Why are you participating?:

One step closer to world peace and the universal realization that "we're all just one big family."

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I try to do little things to make people smile everyday. I like to give people compliments; people try to look good or do nice things and they like it when other people notice. If you make one person feel good, they turn around and do the same thing to others. Its nice just to see other people be happy.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I try to be a positive person for others and to encourage them in their walk with God.
Why are you participating?:

I love how this project advocates eliminating evil from the face of the earth. There is evil all around but, if we all turn away from evil, even if it's a small group of people at first, eventually it will spread around the world.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I have been working with inner city kids every summer since I was 16 years old. Most people would hate the thought of spending every morning with "crazy kids," but working with children is truly a blessing for me. My good deeds consists making people smile, educating, and learning from our youth.
Why are you participating?:

I was interested in this project and think more people should spread positive deeds on the web. Its also a chance to eliminate assumptions about people that may look different from you.

My boyfriend and I were out to eat, when I noticed the man behind us was eating alone. I paid for his meal. It made his night.
Why are you participating?:

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I am a 93-year-old native of North Carolina, and am a life-long democrat. At my age it's hard to get out and help others, but I've always tried to be kind to everyone. In my day, I helped with a lot of church functions and helped to raise my granddaughter.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
My favorite way to unwind is to ride 50-100 miles on my bicycle
Why are you participating?:

I may be a geek, but I don't watch TV or play World of Warcraft. The reasons why I'm a vegetarian are complex but don't include "to leave more meat for you." And performing in community theater, I've encountered all sorts of misinformed stereotypes.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I'm one of those people who's an all-around do-gooder. For example, even though people say you shouldn't give money to panhandlers on the street, I'll try to give a little money if I have some handy, because you just never really know what their situation is. I volunteer for various causes, and am concerned about information security and the right to free expression on the internet.
Why are you participating?:

People are always judged by others and judging me in real life. Women are particularly subjected to artificially manufactured standards of beauty, and often judge each other, too! Do we REALLY need to extend all of this judgment and cruelty to the internet? I don't think so!
