Tell Us Your Good Deed: 

I mentor my international ESL students after they have left my classroom and transition into university life in America. I do this because people helped me (and my family) feel at home in my worldly travels. Knowing someone cares about you really helps when adjusting to a new culture.

Why are you participating?: 

People don't think of me as Puerto Rican because I'm "only a quarter" or have freckles, but I have always felt my PR heritage strongly and have always proudly listed it first when stating my Heinz57 American genetic makeup. Just because I look Irish doesn't mean I am not Puerto Rican.
