Tell Us Your Good Deed:

I am going on 12 years as a foster parent. Without a doubt the most challenging job I've ever loved.
At this time last year, I was unconscious, and on ECMO life support for 2.5 months. These past several months home, I've had the opportunity to connect with others who for similar and different reasons ended up with lung disease requiring supplemental oxygen like myself. Through these people, I have offered support, received support, and been able to share my experiences of keeping an active lifestyle while having to use oxygen.

Why are you participating?:

Participating today to support some of my favorite causes. Worcester Pride and the No Evil Project. I think we are all guilty of labeling, inadvertently or not. When I don't have the O2 on my face, my disability is invisible and people expect me to be the person I was before Sept 2021. After the year I've had, I certainly try to be more aware, especially knowing that I too may be being labeled/ judged. “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.”
