Tell Us Your Good Deed:
Fed a homeless man
Why are you participating?:

Cynthia

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I am raising my children in the kind of household that I wish I had grown up in: safe, loving, stable and nurturing.
Why are you participating?:

Labels allow people to prejudge others. I wear my 'labels' externally to push back against other people's assumptions, and want to encourage others to do the same. Being accepted for who you really are, and not how others want you to be, is empowering and gratifying.

Brittany

Worcester, MA
United States
Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I worked for 3 years at a nonprofit organization that helps families, children and individuals with mental health needs. I am also an activist for social rights, eradicating stigma, and promoting change.
Why are you participating?:

Because while labels can be useful for categorizing, they are also damaging and come with sets of prejudices that need to be challenged.. and because the pictures of me aren't the greatest, I want to try accepting them as they are anyway.

Mary

South Hadley, MA
United States
Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I feed the homeless on my way home from work weekly. As a single mom I know how it feels to go hungry. Nobody should have to experience that.
Why are you participating?:

We have the right to be judgmental but what is the need to? Everyone has a story & we should treat each other with love & respect.

Caron

Enfield, CT
United States
Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I volunteered for an animal rescue group as well as first hand rescued and found homes for many animals injured, living on street, or both.
Why are you participating?:

It's amazing to me in this day and age when the majority of people are tattooed there is still an assumption by some that those with tattoos are bad people.
