To show that not all Christian conservatives, who support gun rights, are fat white guys
I work in the area of children's mental health and work to fight stigma constantly.
Its who we are as people that defines us, not our labels! Rise above the hate! Be the change you wanna see!
Labels allow people to prejudge others. I wear my 'labels' externally to push back against other people's assumptions, and want to encourage others to do the same. Being accepted for who you really are, and not how others want you to be, is empowering and gratifying.
Because while labels can be useful for categorizing, they are also damaging and come with sets of prejudices that need to be challenged.. and because the pictures of me aren't the greatest, I want to try accepting them as they are anyway.
We have the right to be judgmental but what is the need to? Everyone has a story & we should treat each other with love & respect.
It's amazing to me in this day and age when the majority of people are tattooed there is still an assumption by some that those with tattoos are bad people.
