Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I sponsor a child from Albania with a monthly financial gift. I do this to give her a chance at a better life, to show her the kindness of a stranger and to model Jesus so she feels the love of God.
Why are you participating?:

I am a high school art teacher and I have witnessed how labels can hurt or encourage. I'd like people to consider how their words impact others and how we attach judgments to labels.

I'm a home health aide that takes care of the elderly at their home. I'll tell you guys a little story, I was doing some errands one day saw an old man fall with his wheelchair and groceries. No one came to his aid so I jumped out of the car tried to help him up, asked my boyfriend to help left him up. The man was grateful for our help, that people drove by, looked at him and kept driving.

As a Latina woman I grew up around racism and I want to make a difference by joining this organization and making the public aware that racism still exists, still hurts, and is just a misunderstanding about the different cultures that live in our society. The three L's.

Why are you participating?:

Labels can lead to self fulfilling prophecy. Just because people judge me based on gender, race, socio - economics, the music I listen to and/or how I choose to dress on a particular occasion - it doesn't mean "they" get to define me. I DEFINE ME. Always have and always will.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I used to volunteer with Food Not Bombs, I loved doing it a lot but it fell apart. I'm hoping to get people together and start it up again.
Why are you participating?:

I like this project. I think that identity is super important. It's one of those things that can be good or bad but it's yours and don't let anyone tell you why it is or what it means!
