Tell Us Your Good Deed:
Volunteer for a community based arts non-profit to promote new and emerging artists to make the world more beautiful by their images.
Why are you participating?:

To show the world that we CAN live in peace and celebrate our differences. The world is like a tapestry, made up of many different strands of color, texture and design that creates one beautiful image.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I've been a Girl Scout leader for over 30 years. Started with my daughter, and now my granddaughters. Helping girls in our community learn to be leaders of the future. We strive to open the minds of all girls to their possibilities and help them see who they can become. We have fun helping each other.
Why are you participating?:

I love that this opportunity to participate was so close to home. Everyone needs to see "the person" not their label.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
As street artists, sometimes the best gift we have to give is listening, since we do not speak. Sometimes, we appear hard-lined because we cannot allow you to touch us and invade our space (we are people, too... please remember that), but when someone approaches us and clearly needs to be heard, we will listen. One such woman approached me one evening in Providence, extended her hand, and I took it. We consented to hug each other, and she let me know how much she appreciated our exchange. There were tears in her eyes. I do not know what she was going through, but I hope she walked away feeling better. Mental health awareness is very important to Silent Soapbox, as are causes pertaining to children in the foster care and adoption systems. Please contact us for volunteer performance opportunities at these types of events.
Why are you participating?:

Mental Health awareness; child poverty awareness.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I give all I can to those who need it- whether it be time, money, attention, or help. I am all about helping someone else's day get better even if only for a moment.
Why are you participating?:

After hearing about this project, I just knew that it was for me. I believe in spreading positivity and not judging others based on the surface.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I try to do a little something everyday and look for chances to do so, I feel it is the proper human thing to do; leave a quarter in the carriage for the next person at the supermarket so they do not have to scramble for a quarter, pick up trash and dispose of properly, donate when at the market, hold doors open, smile, etc.. I also volunteer with an opioid task force.
