Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I have been an animal advocate and still belong to the "no kill shelter" (as a contributor) "The Animal Umbrella". The volunteers feed, trap, provide medical help and find new homes for the abandoned cats. They rely on donations, sometimes the money is not there and the volunteers have to pay out of their own pockets to feed the cats.
Why are you participating?:

In many institutions, there are a lot of cats that have been thrown out of people's cars and regularly the animal control comes in and the cats are euthanized. There are millions of cats like that - we save one cat at a time but at the end, many, many, cats have been saved.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I teach Sunday School and Christian Ed. Committee, I volunteer for the National Association for the Mentally Ill, I volunteer to be a trustee for State Hospital, and I visit with other older women at the Age Center.
Why are you participating?:

I see all the hatred and violence on TV and wish for a softer, gentler, more tolerant time.

The world needs a kinder, more honest, moral atmosphere.

Tell Us Your Good Deed:
I donated to a charity organization in Vietnam to help the vulnerable and raise orphans. The orphans now have grown up, graduated from college, and got good jobs.
