Tell Us Your Good Deed:

I teach children how to swim in the summer. I'm lifeguard, CPR, and AED certified. Some children are terrified of the water and it's up to me to prove to them that there is nothing to fear. It feels so good to be able to help someone overcome their fear and to learn a powerful skill that is often over looked. By the end of the summer most children are able to jump in the deep end and enjoy their time in the water when just three months earlier they were so afraid of it. I believe that everyone should learn how to swim because that would save a lot of lives each year.

Why are you participating?:

Anyone can do good things, even if it's smiling to someone on the street or holding the door open for someone walking behind you. These small things have a profound impact on the lives of others and people often overlook them. I wish that people wouldn't overlook the small things because they add up.
