Tell Us Your Good Deed:
On a recent visit to a customers home, we spoke for a bit about many things we had in common. We talked about setting a date for a future appointment, when she stated that she would never be able to remember that. I asked her why. She said she lost her balance and hit her head some months ago, and she just hasn't felt right since. I suggest that she call her doctor immediately, which she did. Her son took her to the doctor appointment, where she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She has since had an operation to remove the tumor. I'm glad I encouraged her to follow up. Hope she's okay for a long time.

The latest: letting my son's ex-girlfriend (they parted acrimoniously) stay with us for about a week, after she lost her internship and before she could organize herself to get back to Texas. We treated her like a daughter and had a great time. Meanwhile, my two young-adult children were far away.

I love the idea of poking holes in stereotypes in a visual way. In this polarized society, it's important to see each other as individuals.

My little cousin is clinically depressed due to a loss of a close family member. I would like to say that I've helped her through the process and put a smile on her face occasionally. I love my family and will do anything for them.
